Organic
The procedure is ideal and safe for human consumption.

During our 20 years of providing goods to various countries around the world ERTÜRK has noticed the changes that have occurred in the eating habits of todays consumer. In doing so we have realised that there is a need for a product that targets the health conscious customer. In order to provide for this segment we have invested time and effort to research and develop organic farming, raw material storage, detail of organic production and shock freezing.
Due to constant changes in the Organic Market, at the moment, we prefer to purchase from independent Project growers.
When the growers want to sell their crop, we first inspect their warehouses to see if the storage conditions are suited for Organic storage. If it meets our standards we then take a sample from the raw material and send it to SGS
laboratory for the pesticide analysis.
If the results are then clear we transfer the raw material to our warehouse in our own plastic boxes. Our organic product certificate has been awarded to us by ECO CERT which is one of the leading laboratories for certification in the world.
All organic sultanas have to be tested and certified before they are cleared for shipment. This process is carried out by ECOCERT who is also working alongside SGS and other recognised laboratories who are leaders in their field.
When the goods are in the warehouse we contact
ECO CERT and request them to take a sample for the Organic certification. If the result is clear we produce the material and then apply the shock freeze treatment in our own shock freezer. This process decontaminates without the use of chemicals. The temperature is lowered to below -18 / -23 which kills all of the pests.
The timing for the shock freezing treatment depends on the outside temperature which means the fruit can be in the freezer up to 40 to 50 hours. ERTÜRK is proud to announce that we are one of the very few sultana exporters who implements the use of an in house Shock Freezer to decontaminate the organic raw material without the use of chemicals. Having the shock freezer located onsite also allows us to have 100 percent traceability of our goods.
The procedure is ideal and safe for human consumption.

Pesticide
Management
For our clients who require raw material that has lower levels of pesticides but do not want to pay for organic raw material, we offer the PM (Pest Management) raw material. The PM system is based on the principles that. The exporter is obliged to pledge that the produce does not exceed the limits of the country that we are exporting to but when we are exporting PM goods we guarantee that the pesticide levels will only be at 30 percent of the level set by the country that we are exporting to. In addition to this we also guarantee that there will only be max 5 different pesticides present in the goods. To achieve this the farmers are obliged to use designated pesticides at the specified levels.
This procedure in Turkey is known as Good Agricultural Practice. The internal procedures that are carried out by us for the PM are the same as the organic sultanas. When the PM raw material comes in to our warehouse they are stored separately and a sample is taken and sent to the laboratory for analysis. After the PM Raw material is processed another sample is taken from the authentication sample box and the goods are only shipped when the results are satisfactory. In order to control all of the procedures mentioned above we purchase the PM raw material only from farmers that we have made contracts to supply us.
